SAP Assessments
BUILDING REGULATIONS PART L1A
A SAP Assessment is required as part of the Building Regulations requirements when designing and constructing a new dwelling.
New buildings are required to meet minimum standards with regard to energy efficiency. A SAP Assessment will establish from the house plans if the design is adequate to achieve compliance. If the design fails to comply recommendations are provided to ensure the minimum standards are met. It is therefore vital that the assessment is done early on in the design stage to avoid expensive changes to the drawings and specifications.
If the completed home is to be marketed upon completion we are able to offer the New Build EPC for inclusion in the Home Information Pack, which can only be provided by an accredited OCDEA. The SAP assessment also provides the PEA required for the marketing of homes off plan.
